Client is a US based startup providing tools that empowers students to stay organized and focussed on conceptual learning. They create technologies and products that enhance the cognitive ability of students to productively learn and retain STEM knowledge.

Challenges

The client wanted to build a new tool for speech to text conversion in real-time which would enable students to create Automated lecture summary. This feature would extract key concepts covered in each lecture and delivers it in a concise format to students.

Additionally, the platform required scalability to support simultaneous usage by multiple students across devices, while maintaining transcription quality and seamless user experience.

Solution

Lattium implemented a solution for speech to text conversion using IBM Watson. The speech to text service was used to convert speech in multiple languages into text. The transcription of incoming audio is continuously sent back to the client with minimal delay, and it is corrected as more speech is heard. The service is accessed via a REST interface by multiple mobile clients.

The service was exposed through REST APIs, allowing seamless integration with multiple mobile and web clients. AI models were further supported by TensorFlow-based workflows to enable future enhancements such as automated translation and advanced learning analytics.

Results

The tool provided as easy to use interface and capability for the students to create concise lecture summary. The application processes a dataset of speech samples that is being used for the development of automated translation application.

The platform now processes large datasets of speech samples, supporting ongoing development of advanced AI-driven learning tools such as automated translation and contextual learning insights. This transformation positioned the client as an innovator in AI-powered education technology.
